Art but Partially
Drawing with graphite pencil requires more "Pencil Manners" than drawing with colored pencils. The layers of colors hide your minor mistakes when you draw a portrait with colored pencils. Yet many amazing graphite artists are afraid of trying colored pencils!

I think the portraits with imperfections is a perfect hand drawn portrait. It does not mean that you are drawing a realistic portrait and you don't spend time on it. For example, when you draw beards and the very little bumps of face, just feel free! do not make it into a pattern. No matter how good you are at shading and drawing, if you accidentally or intentionally make the beard hair into some kind of a pattern, your drawing won't look great. I am not a big fan of photorealism because I believe that a hand drawn must look like a hand drawn! I understand that drawing photorealistic portrait is a skill but I would never like to learn that.

When drawing with colored pencils do not rely on one color application, building layers will make your drawing look more realistic and complexUsing burnisher and/or colorless blender is always a good idea, it adds more life to the drawingFeel free to turn your drawing canvas or change your application direction for shading and coloring, but you have to ensure that your drawing doesn't show where you changed the direction! There are many kinds of papers available, just pick one that suits you. Colored pencil drawings require layering of several pencils, so make sure that the paper you choose has some tooth/grain on it. Some papers have big toot
